A New Home for Staten Island Arts

Staten Island Arts (formerly the Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island) is getting a new home! They will be moving into a vacant space in the St. George Ferry Terminal, where they will have their administrative offices, event space, and retail opportunities. When completed, the new "Culture Lounge" will be one of the most accessible art galleries in the United States.

They're Heeeere! Cicadapocalypse Hits Staten Island

Every 17 years, Brood II of periodical cicada emerges along the East Coast. And, as the Borough with the highest percentage of parkland in New York City, gets the highest percentage of cicadas. They started resurfacing earlier this week to the delight and disgust (depending on how you feel about them) of Staten Island residents.
