Revolutionary Staten Island

Staten Island played an important role in the Revolutionary War. Start at Fort Wadsworth, which was captured by the British in 1776. Continue on to Historic Richmond Town, New York City's only historic village.

There you can get a glimpse of life in the 18th Century. Finally, pay a visit to the Conference House, where John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Edward Rutledge tried, unsuccessfully, to reach a peace agreement with the British.
